EMA has developed a University-wide annual thematic science program for the San Juan River corridor. An annual research theme is selected based upon interest and need expressed by resource managers at the BLM Monticello Office in Bluff, Utah and researchers and professors at NAU. This program involves the participation of groups using the San Juan River permit and provides students from NAU and surrounding communities with hands-on natural resource management and research experience.
The Annual Thematic Research Projects:
2006 - Camelthorn Inventory
2007 - Recreation Impacts Assessment
