EMA supports the growing need for alternative energy sources and believes that the potential ecological impacts of proposed wind parks should be fully understood. EMA strives to ensure that scientific and unbiased ecological data is gathered for proposed wind farm sites.
For instance, EMA worked with Sunshine Arizona Wind Energy to ensure that biological surveys for birds and bats were conducted at the proposed Sunshine Wind Park. Sunshine Arizona Wind Energy proposed construction of a forty turbine wind park approximately thirty-seven miles east of Flagstaff off Interstate 40 at the Meteor Crater exit.
